Good morning,
As we wrap up the first week of Backlog Maintenance Month, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has engaged with my posts. This week, I shared my very first podcast, a paper on the importance of involving operational managers in research, and a poll about the impact of the environment on patient recovery. These posts have collectively received over 6,700 impressions, along with hundreds of reactions and comments.
Regarding the survey, we’ve had nearly 100 responses on LinkedIn, with 99% of participants agreeing that the environment plays an important or very important role in patient recovery.
Additionally, I had the privilege of attending the NHS England conference, where I spoke with numerous directors about addressing the challenging issue of backlog maintenance.
I’ve also been working on a couple of articles for the Health Service Journal and Health Estates Journal, focusing on my ongoing research and its significance. Hopefully these will be out in the next month or so.
Last week, I sent out over 500 invitations to acute trusts in NHS England. While the response rate is currently slow, I encourage any directors or executives in finance, HR, personnel, or estates to participate in the survey, which can be accessed at www.dpjones.uk/s2 with access code 3765. Your response will be vital in understanding the impact and response to backlog maintenance.
Looking ahead to next week, I’ll be starting with an article about one of healthcare’s most underappreciated figures and exploring the use of AI in managing healthcare estates.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
